John Wise
I've spent fifteen years in Cisco's security world. After starting out in network administration, I joined Sourcefire — the company behind Snort — as a technology instructor, and stayed on through Cisco's acquisition. Over eleven years at Cisco I designed, developed, and delivered training across the flagship security portfolio — Secure Firewall, Secure Endpoint, and ISE — teaching engineers on five continents, authoring official courseware (SSFIPS, SSNGFW, SSFAMP), and twice earning recognition as a Cisco Live Distinguished Speaker (US 2018 · EU 2019).
Today I lead Cisco's global ISE & Secure Access partner training program — live, hands-on courses that combine deep lecture, real demos, and extensive lab work. Through Wise Academy, I take on select outside projects in training delivery, course development, and technical video content — and I served as technical editor for Pearson's CCNP Security Official Cert Guide on Secure Firewall and IPS.
